Program Description

The online B.A. in International Relations is designed to produce graduates who can navigate politics, global affairs, and international business to build connections across cultures and borders.

In addition to IR theory and political knowledge, the program covers practical skills for managing offices, analyzing financial information to recommend courses of action, and managing projects.

Program Outline

The B.A. in International Relations is a four-year, 120-credit program that consists of:

  • 42 credits (U.S. units) of general education
  • 45 credits of core coursework
  • 33 credits of electives (11 courses total)

Transfer credit opportunities are available subject to review and approval.

This program is structured into three 16-week terms per year. We offer multiple start dates per year so you can begin your studies when it suits you.

Program Objectives

After graduation, you will be able to:

  • Distinguish the political, economic, and social theories, methods, and historical patterns of international relations applied to contemporary issues and individuals within the world system.
  • Explain the process and implications of interdependence among individuals, groups, and regions in the context of globalization.
  • Analyze conflict within international systems to the institutions of international law, diplomacy, and world order, including prospects for sustainable peace.
  • Assess the uniqueness of international organizations and other individuals within the international system.
  • Evaluate the multidimensional effects of globalization and integration in sustainable economic development.
