Women’s Football World Cup Student Challenge – Winner gets 50CHF Gift Card to COOP

Excitement is in the air as the Women’s World Cup is about to kick off on 20th July! To make the tournament even more thrilling, we have organized a special challenge at the Geneva Campus. This engaging activity allows you to fill out a bracket and predict the winners throughout the tournament. Not only will you have a chance to showcase your football knowledge, but you also stand a chance to win a fantastic prize – a 50CHF gift card to COOP. So, gather your friends, participate in the challenge, and let the games begin!

How the Tournament Works: Before diving into the details of the challenge, let’s briefly understand how the Women’s World Cup tournament operates. The tournament consists of eight groups: A, B, C, D, E, F, G, and H. Each group comprises four teams that compete against each other once. The winning team of a match receives 3 points, while a draw awards both teams 1 point. The losing team doesn’t earn any points. After the group stage, the teams with the highest and second-highest points from each group advance to the next round.

Filling out the Bracket: To participate in the challenge, you need to complete the bracket provided to you. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to fill out your bracket:

  1. Print out the bracket or edit it directly if you can.
  2. Circle the team you believe will be the top two winners from each group. For instance, if you think Japan will win Group C and Zambia will come in second, circle Japan and put a 1 next to it. Similarly, circle Zambia and put a 2 next to it.
  3. Write down the names of the chosen teams in the corresponding spot. In our example, you would write Japan in the “Group C – winner” spot and Zambia in the “Group C – runner-up” spot.
  4. Repeat this process for every group.
  5. Predict the winners of the head-to-head knockout matches and write their names on the lines next to the respective matches.
  6. Continue this process until you have a winning team. Write the winning team’s name in the “Champions” box.
  7. Don’t forget to predict the final score of the championship match in the boxes provided below the final match.
  8. Once you have completed your bracket, send it by email to campus director David Larson – dlarson@ubisglobal.com by Wednesday, 19th July, before midnight. Late submissions will not be accepted.

Determining the Winner: The participant with the highest number of points at the end of the tournament will be declared the winner and receive the 50CHF COOP gift card. Here’s how the points will be allocated:

  1. Each correct prediction in the group stage earns you 1 point. You can accumulate a maximum of 16 points in this stage.
  2. Predicting the winners in the first head-to-head knockout round (round of 16) awards you 2 points per correct choice.
  3. Correct predictions in the second head-to-head knockout round (quarter-finals) will grant you 3 points each.
  4. Choosing the winners in the third head-to-head knockout round (semi-finals) results in 4 points per correct selection.
  5. Picking the ultimate winner of the tournament grants you a significant 6 points.
  6. The total number of points for each participant will be calculated, and the person with the highest score will be declared the winner.
  7. In case of a tie, the participant who accurately predicted the final match’s score will be crowned the winner.
  8. If a tie persists, the participant with the most correct predictions in the group stage will emerge victorious.

The Women’s World Cup Challenge at the Geneva Campus offers you a fantastic opportunity to showcase your football prediction skills and win an exciting prize. By filling out the bracket and accurately predicting the tournament’s outcome, you can accumulate points and claim victory. Remember to submit your completed bracket by Wednesday, 19th July, to be eligible for the challenge.
